Hello! I was on a bit of a card kick last weekend. I had fun pulling cards together out of my favourite scraps (I have them stashed into one box for easy access during our last stretch of renos). Love the colours of the Garden Cafe line from American Crafts!

I popped in to Up the Street last weekend and Tara had these lovely crystal hearts in by Prima. I think they will be making a regular appearance on my next few projects ;)

Good day! A quick post today. I have a card to share. I needed a card for co-workers to sign to send well wishes to a team mate. This what I came up with (lots of my fav scraps and a clear card base):

I found this clear flower frog at the market downtown. M's had the dark ones but they contain lead?! I have small kids so that was a bad idea. So glad to have found this clear, plastic alternative! Hope you are having a great weekend!

Jillibean Soup

Hello! I have the wonderful pleasure of being the guest for Jillibean Soup this month! I will tell you that the mail service is not my friend and I was worried about the tight turnaround time. Honestly, once I opened the box, it was no problem! Great new product and fun colours made for quick work for the assignments. This layout and this card were up on the Jillibean blog yesterday.

Hello! I always love playing with mist. I took some time to play with mist and some embossing powder. I used this stamp in combination with a variety of different mists. This was my favourite result:

Hello! I have a page to share with you today for Pebbles. My assignment was to create something using the Pebbles cool, new Adhesive Notes. I chose to create a page (I am sure you're not surprised :)! I love that scrapbooking has resulted in my taking more pictures of some of those extra special, everyday moments!

The With Love line was perfect for these pictures. I decided to use the sticky notes both as an embellishment and as a border on the page. I love the added pattern and colours, and how easy they are to reposition.

Up the Street January kit

Hello! I have a few things to share this week from Up the Street. The January kit will be available today. It is loaded with October Afternoon goodness; a lovely soft palette. I tried my hand at the 'laundry line' look for my first page. (Miss E is actually five in this shot, so I was pretty happy to have this particular flash card :)

I put together a frame for a dear friend. Of course, I didn't think to take the picture before I put the page into the frame. Sorry for the reflection, I just didn't want to take it apart too many times (I will have to open it again to add the picture).

Hello! Welcome to 2012. I have lots to look forward to this year. Fewer renos, a trip to New York to see my brother and starting some canoeing. (Our little guy is finally old enough to listen, which greatly reduces the chance of him drowning himself...)

Each and every year, I get to start the New Year with a bang!

It's my thirty-(ahem)th birthday today. I am always asked if my parents received anything for having a baby on the 1st. Nope. But just because I didn't get anything doesn't mean you shouldn't get something :) I thought I would share a little present with you! This is the Studio Calico kit from August, called Boardwalk.

It is full/complete, in a nice clean box waiting for an address. If you'd like a chance to win, please leave me a comment and be sure your email address is available! Bird perch

Hello! I have really been missing those bright sunny days, with the endless blue sky and the crisp white snow. It it hard to complain about the mild weather but I could really use a few bright days. So instead of a bright day, how about a bright layout?

It is a big mopey lip. It is cute. It has yet to convince any of us of anything substantial. I'm just saying ;) Don't ask me what he was moping about, because I can't remember. The pictures are cute though!

I tried something new on this page. I used some Co'redinations, an embossing folder and a little sandpaper and I love the way it turned out. (I blame Kim and Tara for expanding my horizons).

Sketch Pebbles Inc

Hello! There's a sketch up today on the Pebbles blog. Our assignment was to create a page based on this sketch:
Nothing like a good sketch and some of my favourite patterned paper to turn out a quick page. I've found that the Fresh Goods line is great for any kind of page and theme. I modified the sketch slightly for two pictures instead of three and the page came together easily!
This is my take on the sketch:

I used some glossy accents on the alpha stickers to add some dimension and depth to the letters. Be sure to head over to the Pebbles blog to check out the other takes on the sketch.

Hello! It's holiday card week at the Pebbles blog. Lots of great, and very different cards up this week. I created three cards for my assignment.

The great thing about using just one line (like the Welcome Christmas line) to make your cards, is that you can develop a design and then mix and match the product. For me, I love that each card is original but that my creative process is a little bit faster (yes, I am pokey ;).

The poinsettias were an easy starting point. And of course, I had to pull out a few border punches to use on my cards!

Hello! I have two more projects to share with you. My last two from the December kit from Up the Street Scrapbooking.

On occasion, I catch a picture of the kids being close and sharing. It makes up for all the yelling and screaming that they do the rest of the year. Sigh.

Tara provided the card base with the doily edge in the kit as well as this original embellishment. Those two ingredients made it really easy to come up with this card!

I have to admit, I love those new Prima gems. So much so, that I went back to the store to pick up a few more packages! They are pretty and a fun variation on gems.

Six more sleeps until Chrismas and I have lots of wrapping to do! Only one more gift to pick up. I *might* be organized. Maybe.

Smile Maker

Hello! I have a layout to share. I love the picture on this page. I loved that Bean. It is located in Millenium Park in Chicago. My friend Mindy and I couldn't help but notice the number of people who were there, and they were ALL smiling. Everyone was spending a lot of time looking at, touching and taking pictures of this giant bean. Heck, we were too!

As you can see, I used mostly the Amy Tan line for this page. The colours were perfect! The twine circles Chicago on the map. (As soon as I saw the background pp, I knew it would be perfect to use to document a piece of a trip!) I did layer on a little orange and a little white mist for a bit more colour.

The best toy

Hello! Another page from my December kit from Up the Street Scrapbooking. I managed to finally get a good pic of the page!

My brother gave our little guy this toy. The kids love it because of the unusual way it moves and the loud clacking sound it makes. (Did I mention it can be rather headache inducing ;) This toy keeps reappearing and the kids spend days torturing us with it. And then it gets lost in the toy box for a little while...

Love the vintage feel and colours with the kit. Lots of fun to play with! I have two more layouts to finish up and share. Hopefully by this weekend!

Hello! I have another page to share with you from my December kit from Up the Street Scrapbooking.

Have you had this problem? We tried for a long time to get a good picture of these two monkeys in their Santa hats and new PJs. We had to give up... So these are the pictures I do have...

Is this chaos familiar to anyone out there? LOL!

A few notes about this page: the Merry and Bright is one of the premade 4x6 cards from Simple Stories. I trimmed the whole card down and then across the top of the words. I added some Glossy Accents to make the letters stand out a little more.

Hello! Love the challenge up at CAS-ual Fridays. I had to play along. I chose to include chevron, aqua and pink in my card. I decided that since it is December I should keep adding to my Christmas card collection.

I ordered this pink Zing (Grapefruit) online and wasn't too sure about it when I received it. Still not too sure ;) I pulled out the doily stamp set from Studio Calico that I have been wanting to put to use. I have more cards underway using these stamps :)

Say yes to the dress

Hello! The December kit for Up the Street Scrapbooking will be posted today. I have a card and a page to share.

The kit includes pages from Simple Stories. I love the sentiments and the colour. The card from yesterday, as well as today's were created using the Simple Stories 4x6 cards for inspiration.

Next is my page about our favourite Christmas dress. Miss E wore this dress for two years and wore it almost daily some weeks. It looked as good on the last day as it did on the first day. You need to say yes to this dress.

I used the Poinsettia dies from Spellbinders again. Just love how they turned out using the Core'dinations Kraft core No. 4 cardstock. The cardstock is heavy and it embosses so nicely! The gold Thickers are nice, but quite shiny. It took a few pics to get the letters to show up on the page. LOL!

I was invited to design with the Up the Street Scrapbook December kit last week. Ohhh it is NICE! I thought I would sneak a card in to give you a little taste of the kit ;)

Hello! My posts are a little spread out but we're in the middle of the biggest part of the basement reno. Drywall... Bleh. I do have lots to share coming up! The Up the Street Scrapbooking kit for December is lovely. I can't wait to share it with you.

In the meantime, I would love to share a quick card. I made this up yesterday, with the bits left over from completing a couple of assignments. I picked up a new Martha Stewart punch featuring holly leaves. I used it a lot more than I expected. Here's one of the cards I created:

I love the combo of the kraft with red and green! It was the last card I created, and I am not sure why I didn't think of using a kraft base earlier!

Hello! This week we were to create a project for the Pebbles blog that reflected the theme of being grateful.

My job reminds me daily that I need to be grateful for so many things in my life. I am oh-so-grateful to have my husband. He is a great support and a wonderful friend. And I really need to do more pages about him and more pages about us! I was glad to have this assignment. Of course I had to use my favourite line to scrap one of my favourite people!

Good day! How are things? Well, I couldn't resist. Another challenge that suited me perfectly at CAS-ual Fridays. So I played along! This week's challenge is a tag or a card that includes a tag. Here's my take:

This is just a mini card, measuring 3.5"x3.5". The white background is embossed with keys. A cute new folder I picked up by Craft Concepts.

I also used my new flash bounce from Photojojo. I am pretty happy with how it worked on my first attempt!

My last two cards featuring this butterfly stamp. For these cards, I let the patterned paper do the work. I embossed the butterfly onto the circles of the patterned paper and then cut out the butterfly and circle as one piece.

I like the effect. I just wish I had more of that patterned paper!

Hello! Sorry about the delay posting. Long story short -my laptop crashed and needed to be reformatted. Luckily, we had a back up from only two weeks ago (phew!) and my assignments were all already out (double phew!). The only glitch I ran into trying to post today was resizing this pic:

I am playing along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge to have an element of the card hang over the outside edge of the front of the card. This challenge site is new to me but so, so fun! Glad I found it!

Mix and Match Monday Pebbles Inc

Happy Monday! I had a very fun assignment for this week -Mix and Match. I had the freedom to create anything; I just needed to mix the lines. I had a great time coming up with this layout:

I love how well all the lines mix! I will admit, that I have been waiting rather impatiently to have an opportunity to put this calendar paper to use and I am glad for the chance to use it! (Isn't my girl cute too?)

That tag? From the newest Pebbles release With Love. It's a Valentine's theme with lots of pink and red, paired with kraft. Completely fantastic!

Fabulous Fall Pebbles Inc

Hello! Happy fall! This week's theme on the Pebbles blog is fabulous fall and we were asked to create something with a fall theme. I happen to love fall wreaths, and seeing as I created a door wreath last year, I decided to create a smaller wreath this year.

The leaves were created using Spellbinders dies and layered on using Scor Pal tape and 3D foam dots for some dimension. I also put the flat leaves thorough my embossing machine to give them a little more texture.

Hello! A layout to share today. This one was made using more of the fall kit from Up the Street Scrapbooking. The rub-on butterflies are by 7gypsies and they are beautiful. I used them on paper, vellum and the canvas tag. Smoothed on like butter!

I don't often scrap black and white pictures, but I love these pics and wanted a different take from the colour version. (Love that the kit comes with Elle's tags!)

Hello! Have you noticed? I have created a couple of pages with 'stick' in the title. I think it reflects on the fact that our son has an obsession with sticks. Yes, we provide balls, buckets, shovels, a bat, a tennis racket and hockey sticks... Still, it's all about that piece of tree ;)

Up the Street...

Hello! I just received the September/October kit from Up the Street Scrapbooking and it is GORGEOUS! Love the colours and mix of patterned papers. I added the buttons from the recent My Mind's Eye Lost and Found line and some paint dabbers from Jenni Bowlin and Ranger.

The first page is a picture I grabbed at the beach. The paper and the colours worked perfectly!

And I just had to scrap this pic of our little man. LOL! What a face!

I have two more pages planned and a couple of cards too... I am off to Chicago this weekend with my scrappy friend Mindy, so my pages and cards will happen early next week!

The weekend got away from me! Lots of projects to do... I have a page to share. The pics are older, before I had an interest in photography. I still think Miss E is super cute in these shots, so I scrapped them!

It was challenging to get the right colour balance when photographing the layout. I think the saturated yellows are to blame ;)

Miss E is two in these pics. This was shortly after we moved into our current house and we discovered the wading pool (now replaced with a fabulous new splash pad) was only two blocks away! Heaven!

American Crafts!

Phew! It was really hard work keeping that in for so long! I was fortunate enough to be invited to guest at the beginning of July. I have been so excited and I almost didn't believe it, until the box arrived. It was so much fun! I created a total of six projects. I love that the instructions with the box were "use only what is in the box"! We all have American Crafts in our stash, so this made a lot of sense ;) It pushed me to do things like use Apricot cardstock (the orange) as a background. Hello! A card of thanks to share. The flowers are SEI that I received with my most recent box with my Scrapbook Trends magazines in it.

I feel a need to say thank you, to my scrappy friends, to my followers and those who visit. I also want to thank Tara, Lynn and Kristine for making being a design team member so awesome!

So, I would like to share my good fortune with a giveaway. I have to confess. I struggled with this sketch, and it is such a cool sketch. Maybe I need to frame the page down some more... Too much white space? (yes, that's possible, even for me! LOL!) Hello! I am recovering from a crazy month of scrapping assignments and scrapping a page for me. I love, loved the kit being offered at Up the Street Scrapbooking this month. So, as it not my month to design with the kit, I had to scoot out there and pick one up. I am thinking that UTSS will be my new go to kit!

Love the colours and the selection of B-sides. It was hard to decided what to combine! The alpha is the new Pink Paislee wood alpha that I coloured with some Ranger red ink. These pics of my Mom and Mr. A were a bonus catch. They make my heart happy. Seriously.

Hello! It's "In Stitches" week at the Pebbles blog. Our assignment was to create a layout that included stitching, whether it was hand stitching or machine stitching.

I have always enjoyed adding some machine stitching to my layouts for a little colour or some definition. I don't often add hand stitching and thought this would be a good chance to try it out! I picked a yellow to coordinate with the Candy dots and the yellow on the Ever After patterned paper. I love how a few stitches can really pull a layout together.

Hello! Another great sketch up on the Creative Scrapper's blog today. It is a favourite design of mine, stacking three pictures! This week's sketch is by Elin Ahsberg.

Here's my take on the sketch:

There's nothing like the grate in the road at the front of the house. A lot of time is spent dropping rocks and little sticks down the grate. We have little boards that we lean across the openings to prevent balls from rolling down there.

Hello! What a busy week! Family time, camping and a birthday. We've been busy having fun!

I was at an all day crop yesterday and it was a very productive day! I got to hang out with old friends and made some new friends (hi Lynn ;) I finished up all sorts of assignments and did a little scrapping of my own. So I have a page to share!

Little Mr. A is such a sweet and helpful guy, carrying in a loaf of bread in after grocery shopping. It was helpful until he noticed the ants on the walkway to the house. He dropped like a ton of bricks (onto the bread) to check out the ants. Do you see the bread peeking out from under his body? He was so enthralled that I had time to unlock the house and get the camera.

(A big thanks to my friend Judy. She pulled out these little ant stickers that were the perfect addition to my page!)

Hello! Today's theme on the Pebbles blog is a product parade featuring the alphabet stickers. There are some many fun fonts and colours available. The brightly coloured Ransom stickers inspired this page. I really wanted the pictures and the numbers to pop, so I chose a dark coloured background. A list was a perfect way to use the numbers and capture lots of details about our son as he is now.

Love how the colour scheme turned out! The blues in the Happy Go Lucky and the Cats & Dogs lines match quite nicely. Be sure to swing by the Pebbles blog to see what other team members have created. Don't forget, the DT call is on and ends tomorrow.

Hello! Is it hot in your neighbourhood? It's crazy hot here and we have no air conditioning. I would love a break for one evening, I have some scrapping to do! LOL! It's not good when the paper warps from the humidity!

A quick share. A page about Miss E when she was two and playing at the beach. This was created using the May kit from Studio Calico.

The alpha is the vanilla Doll font from American Crafts, and I sprayed them using the Piglet mist from Studio Calico. (I always test on the x's or z's, to make sure the colour turns out the way I want). I also used a Fancy Pants filter, untreated. I have a layout to share on Sunday where I've misted a filter with some strong colours.

Hello! It's is super busy around here! Summer fun, basement renos and assignments galore. Not to mention the general everyday life stuff like work and housework...

I have a layout to share today. A page that was inspired by Stephanie Howell's post here, about scrapping those less than perfect pics. It stuck with me and I pulled out these pics and scrapped them on purpose (I was already planning on scrapping them, but this pushed me along).

These two have so much fun together. Love the wings that Grandma picked up for them. I tucked into my Pebbles stash, seeing as I only have 2 assignments left. I picked out a few things and went to town.

Hello! Happy long weekend! I have a lot of scrapping to do in the next couple of weeks. Nothing I can share yet, but I am looking forward to a couple of opportunities that have come my way ;)

This page I created using the monthly kit from Studio Calico for May. Love the exclusive umbrella patterned paper, and it was perfect for these pics. I took these pictures last May, right after Miss E's birthday. She's wearing all her birthday gifts!

I love how small people tend develop their own ideas about the world around them. This Parasol (not an umbrella), is called a parasol when Miss E is being a fashionista. When we are taking it to a soccer game for shelter, it's an umbrella. Go figure.

I found this stamp at a scrap store that was moving locations. It's an old Studio Calico stamp that I have been coveting but had been unable to find. A huge score in my books :)

Good morning! How are you? I had a lovely chat last night with a few scrappers from Miss Arts. Thanks for the fun ladies!

I have a couple of cards to share today. They are of course from the lovely June kit from Up the Street Scrapbooking. Tremendous kit and tremendous colours!

This first card features one of the label stickers from Studio Calico's line, State fair. I used a Sizzix die for the flowers and a little old fashioned quilling for center of the flower. The Mini Mono alpha from Basic Grey are so easy to use.

The kit also came with a mini stamp set from WRMK. I had a choice. I admit I was stumped but loved this ticket. I have discovered a new love, Zing! So, so fun. Love the colours, texture and shine on the finish!

I used up the rest of my gems from the previous kit. I love that the kits flow together so well that way.

I am looking for suggestions around which Spellbinders dies to pick up. I am thinking that I need one or two sets, but can't decide which sets. So, if you've used them before, and have a fav, please let me know!

Up the Street...

Hello! The June kit from Up the Street Scrapbooking is now available! It is a fabulous kit. I have a couple of the layouts to share today. I finished up 3 layouts and 3 cards and have LOTS left to play with. For the record, I don't typically use/enjoy stickers unless they are label stickers. I was given a sheet of stickers from Simple Stories '100 days of summer' line to use and OH MY! The whole summer line is fabulous!

The splash pad is a must in our lives during the summer heat. It is only two blocks away and hours of entertainment.

And of course, we need to head to the beach to play! Being chased by Pops is high on the list of popular things to do ;)

Hello! Happy weekend! Any fun plans for the weekend? We have soccer, family and hopefully some work on that basement of ours. Oh, and scrapping. I have about four pages on the go that I would like to finish :)

A quick share today. Love beach pictures. Our favourite place be with the kids because, well, it's just fun!

This page was created using the Watermelon Gazpacho line from Jillibean soup. I won the line a couple of weeks ago from the Jillibean blog. I really like all the circles and tags that come with the line.

A quick post today. I wanted to share this card that was picked up by Cards for the May magazine. I received my magazines last night. So much eye candy!

This card further inspires the need to pick up any version of the punch anywhere punch systems ;) I don't really need more punches, do I? Love the scallop square!

A really cool school has opened up for us scrappers! Lots of neat classes have been put together by some wonderful paper artists!

Really, check it out! I am so impressed. There's lots of sneaks and previews available here. And I have a couple of little peeks too ;)

I will be teaching the basics around baker's twine. My class is available starting on June 10th. And the really fun part? There's a scheduled chat with class teacher! (I am on the 20th).
